Privacy policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data OrderHue handles and why. “We” means Choodle Ltd, trading as OrderHue (company no. 17506918, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom). We are the data controller for the data described below. Contact us at support@orderhue.com.
The short version
- The free plugin collects nothing. It runs on your site, stores its settings in your database and never contacts us or anyone else.
- This website uses no cookies and no analytics.
- We only hold personal data when you email us or buy Pro.
- You don’t have to give us any personal data. But we can’t reply without your email address, and you can’t buy or activate Pro without the details Freemius needs.
The free plugin
The OrderHue plugin from WordPress.org stores its settings (your status names, colours and options) in your own WordPress database. It sends no data to us or to third parties and contains no tracking. Emails it sends to your customers go through your own site’s email set-up; we never see them. For your customers’ data, your shop is the controller and we are not involved.
This website
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this site, may log visitors’ IP addresses for security and to run the service; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We don’t use cookies, analytics or tracking pixels, and we keep Cloudflare’s cookie-setting bot features switched off.
When you email support
| What | Your name and email address, the content of your messages and anything you attach. |
|---|---|
| Why | To answer your question and keep a record of the conversation. |
| Lawful basis | Legitimate interests (answering the people who contact us). |
| Kept for | 24 months after the conversation ends, then deleted. |
| Service providers | Cloudflare (receives and forwards email sent to our domain), Resend (stores and sends our support email; EU region) and Anthropic (the AI service behind our support assistant: our AI support assistant reads your message and drafts and sends replies). |
When you buy OrderHue Pro
Pro is sold by Freemius, our reseller and merchant of record. Freemius collects your payment and billing details, handles VAT and sends your receipt. It acts as an independent controller for that data under its own privacy policy. We never see your full card details.
If you type your email address at checkout but don’t finish buying, Freemius may send you up to three reminder emails about that order. The checkout tells you this and has a No thanks link that stops them, and each email has an unsubscribe link. We don’t use that address for anything else.
To manage your licence, Freemius shares the following with us, and Pro sends the following to Freemius, our merchant of record and licensing processor:
| What | Your name, email address, the plan you bought and your licence key (from Freemius). When a licence is activated: the email address, first name and last name of the WordPress administrator who activates it, and your site’s address, used only to issue, validate and support the licence. When Pro is activated or checks for updates: the Pro and Freemius SDK versions, whether Pro is active and your server’s IP address, plus (unless you switch off Diagnostic info) your WordPress and PHP versions and site title and language. Pro doesn’t track how you use it. |
|---|---|
| Why | To deliver Pro, check your licence, send renewal and receipt emails and give support. |
| Lawful basis | Contract (to provide what you bought). After your licence ends, legal obligation (we must keep sales records for tax and company law). |
| Kept for | While your licence is active, plus 6 years for tax and accounting records. |
| Processor | Freemius (merchant of record and licensing processor). |
Pro doesn’t send usage statistics, order data or your customers’ data to anyone.

International transfers
Some of the services we use (Cloudflare, Resend, Freemius and Anthropic) are US companies and may access data from outside the UK. Cloudflare serves this website from data centres around the world. Where personal data leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards in those providers’ terms, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. Email us for details.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, to object to how we use it, or to send the data you gave us to you or another organisation in a portable format. Email support@orderhue.com. We’ll reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
We don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also email Pro customers.
